CSIR conducts UGC NET Exam for Science stream in these areas- Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Physical Sciences.
CSIR – UGC NET Exam Scheme 2013
Maximum marks carried by MCQ papers in each subject – 200 marks.
Duration of examination – 3 hours
Question paper will be divided into three parts
Part A
Part ‘A ‘will be common to all subjects which is expected to contain maximum 20 questions on “General Aptitude”.
Candidates have to answer any 15 questions out of 20. Each question will carry two marks.
This section would carry 30 marks out of total 200.
Part B
Part ‘B’ will hold subject associated conventional MCQs
This section will carry 70 marks out of 200
Candidates will have to answer at least 20 to 35 questions in this section
Part C
This section would include higher value questions and might also check the knowledge of scientific concepts of the candidate.
Each question might be systematic in nature, where a candidate will have to answer systematically in order to find out the solution to the given scientific problem
This part will be allocated 100 out of total 200 marks
Marking scheme
According to the scheme of exam, negative marking for wrong answer will be applicable wherever required
Exam schedule
MCQ based single paper test will be conducted on Sunday 22nd December, 2013. Please also note the points given below;
1. subject-wise examination schedule will be informed later.
2. At the discretion of CSIR, examination schedule, date of timing can be altered.
3. Question paper will be distributed 15 minutes earlier before the exam starts, so that candidates may find easy to finish the exams in the allotted time.
4. Answer sheets will be distributed to the candidate only at the scheduled time of the exam and candidates are allowed to carry duplicate copy of their OMR answer sheet after writing the exam.
