Overview of Bank Recruitment Selection Process by major Government Banks

Bank Recruitment Exams for probationary officers are conducted every year in the months of September – October. There are limited seats for a PO in every bank. The scarcity of seats in the profile makes it difficult to crack the bank recruitment exams conducted by the bank.
Bank Probationary Officer (PO) is a good profile post in any government bank. Candidates can be recruited as bank PO after clearing the Bank Probationary Officer Recruitment Exam conducted by the all banks under guidance from RBI. So it all depends on the performance in the exam, the better you perform, higher is the probability to cut through the competition.

Pay Scale of Bank Recruitment Process by major Government Banks:
Selected candidates, who pass the bank recruitment process, will be on probation for a period of two years. They will get a starting basic pay around Rs.12000/- In the scale of Rs.10,000-470/6-12820-500/3-14320-560/7-18240 applicable to Officers Junior Management Grade Scale I.
They will also be eligible for D.A., H.R.A. & C.C.A. as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly emoluments of Probationary Officers, including D.A., H.R.A. and C.C.A., are approximately Rs.17000/- at Metropolitan centers.
Selection Procedure of Bank Recruitment Process by major Government Banks
Tier I - Preliminary Examination:
Candidates will be called for an objective type examination. Combined time of 2 hours. The objective type examination will consist of:
Reasoning Ability Test
> Quantitative Aptitude
> General Awareness/Computer Knowledge
> English Language
Tier II - Main Test:
Main test will be an Objective and Descriptive type examination. Combined time of 3 hours. The objective type examination of 2 hours duration will consist of :
> Test of Reasoning
> Data Analysis and Interpretation
> Marketing Knowledge
> Test of English Language
The Descriptive type examination will be a test of English knowledge and would have a paper completion time set for 60 Minutes.
Tier III - Group Discussion & Interview
Qualifying candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Interview and the shortlisted candidates from Tier III will be considered for final selection to the post of probationary officer.
Candidates have to pass both in Tier II & Tier III for final selection.
